The official directories are published for the convenience and information of the citizens of the state. Besides copies of the Licensing Act, other acts, and amendments, they contain directories of Board officers and members, currently licensed veterinarians and animal technicians, staff of the state Department of Agriculture and Industries, Livestock Sanitary Division, and of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Veterinary Services, and teaching staff of schools of veterinary medicine at Auburn and Tuskegee. The listing of veterinarians includes the license number, name, school attended, year of graduation, professional classification, and the mailing address. Concluding the directories is an alphabetical city-county listing of veterinarians. This series illustrates the Board's function in licensing veterinarians and promoting the interests of the public.
